LE GENTLEMAN hotel

For an unforgettable stay

If the city of La Flèche keeps some secrets, “Le Gentleman” is a good example… Ideally located between Le Mans and Angers, the hotel, in the historic city center, is at 17 rue de la Tour d’Auvergne , quiet, in a former 18th century mansion. A perfect address to discover or rediscover the Loir Valley.

In 2013, the current owners were keen to preserve this heritage steeped in history and to offer you 14 rooms, each with its own style.

8 minutes from La Flèche zoo and 30 minutes from the legendary circuits of “Les 24 heures du Mans”, the charming hotel Le Gentleman welcomes you in an atmosphere that skilfully combines comfort, refinemen, and the intimate and warm atmosphere of a family home.

Timeless Hotel

“Located at number 17 rue de La Tour d’Auvergne (formerly Route de Paris), this house was built in 1728” …

“It was a pied-à-terre belonging to the Comtesse du Perche. This mansion was subsequently given to the “Capucins” monks, then sold as national property in 1794. Remains of the convent persist at the bottom of its park.

In 1860, during the construction of the neighboring street and the construction of adjoining houses, the pretty “Manart” style roof which still makes the character of the north facade was unfortunately replaced on the street by a floor in the “romantic” style. , up to date.

The hotel belonged to the “comte de Montreuil” before being acquired in 1895 by General Prax who had commanded the Prytanee college  from 1888 to 1892.

This officer was, as a municipal councilor, one of the main architects of the installation of the town hall at “le château des Carmes”.

Between this building and the Templery stretched a vast park of the “Capucins”convent, the magnificent trees of which can still be seen (Tilia, yews, Sequoia, etc.)
